    Commitment to Community Giving

In addition to volunteering their time, Nestlé employees wholeheartedly support the annual "Community Care Campaign" with monetary contributions to United Way, Reading is Fundamental, Nestlé's Adopt-A-School program, American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, and many more organizations. With Nestlé's dollar-for-dollar match, contributions go even farther in helping our communities grow and thrive.

Like its employees, Nestlé is committed to giving back through creating shared value in society, our approach to corporate social responsibility.

"Creating Shared Value is a very different approach to corporate social responsibility (CSR), because it is not focused on meeting a set of standard external criteria, or on philanthropy. The idea of winners and losers doesn’t fit this model of CSR."

    Mark Kramer, Harvard University

Each year hundreds of Nestlé associates give their Community Care dollars to support Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) at Nestlé's adopted schools across the country.  Over 23,000 students benefit from the partnership between Nestlé and RIF that brings new, free books and motivational literacy programs to children.  Nestlé associates also participate as volunteers at the book distributions through Nestlé's Adopt-A-School program.  "We are proud to be associated with RIF," said Cam Starrett, executive VP, Human Resources, Nestlé USA.  "Books from RIF open up the world for children to experience a broader range of possibilities.  I want to thank all of our associates for their contributions and helping to make the lives of our children a little brighter."
