Italian chocolatier’s first NJ site arrives at Short Hills Mall

MILLBURN, NJ – Shoppers at the Short Hills Mall can now expect to see chocolates, ice cream, pancakes and more at Venchi Fine Italian Chocolates – the brand’s first “ChocoGelateria” in New Jersey.

The new chocolate factory recently opened at Short Hills Mall, on the first floor across from Macy’s. Venchi currently has 135 retail shops in 70 countries, selling 50 different chocolate recipes and 90 flavors of ice cream.

Venchi is not the only chocolate factory in the mall. It is the Swiss chocolate factory Läderach, which opened its doors last September.

Even on a wall of chocolate

From chocolate fountains to colorful ice cream cones and even a chocolate wall, shoppers will be able to sample a variety of goodies at Venchi’s new location.

The boutique will offer chocolate gift boxes, artisan pralines, chocolate bars and various “pick and mix selections”.

Italian ice cream is freshly made daily with recipes from Italy in a variety of flavors. Gourmet cones will also be available with spread and crunchy grains.

Venchi’s “Suprema” pancakes use a hazelnut spread in milk or dark chocolate, and shoppers can purchase a pot to take home. Hot chocolate and European-style coffee will also be on sale at Venchi to accompany all the sweet treats.

This new ChocoGelateria joins the three other Venchi boutiques in the United States, all located in New York, at 861 Broadway, 1796 Broadway and 233 Bleecker St.

Italian Venchi chocolate dates back over 140 years, when Silviano Venchi – a 20-year-old from Turin, Italy – spent his savings on two bronze cauldrons to experiment with chocolate.

The brand is now known for its uniquely named chocolates, such as Chooaviar, Truffles, Gianduiotti, Cremini, Suprema spread, as well as its authentic Italian gelato.
